Jodie Baker is a Registered Psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of school-aged children, adolescents, and youth experiencing a variety of learning, mental health, and behavioural challenges. Jodie possesses a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree with Specialization in Psychology from Dalhousie University and a Master of Arts Degree in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University.
Having worked in a variety of psychology-related positions for a number of years in hospital and community settings, and most recently as a school psychologist, Jodie has attained substantial experience directly involving work with children, adolescents, their families, and school personnel, including work in psychological assessment, diagnosis, counselling, intervention, and consultation, as well as working one to one with children diagnosed with a variety of disorders.
Jodie has worked with diverse, multicultural populations and is proficient in the identification and intervention of multiple disorders including Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), and Anxiety Disorders, to name a few. In addition, as program implementer on the Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI) team at the IWK Children’s Hospital, Jodie was trained specifically in administering behavioral interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Through her work with newcomers to Canada, Jodie also has experience in helping youth find a suitable career path through career counselling.
Jodie is a results oriented individual who is passionate about promoting healthy cognitive, academic, emotional, and personal development in children, adolescents and youth.
