S Gerald Hann, M.A.S.P., EDD

Dr. Hann is the Director of the practice, and has over 20 years experience as an educator and psychologist working with children, parents, and families. As well as being registered to practice in Nova Scotia, he holds a Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology, National Certification in School Psychology (USA), Nova Scotia Level 8 teaching certificate, and is listed on the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Dr. Hann specializes in the psychological assessment of children, adults, and families. He graduated with a doctorate in educational and school psychology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania specializing in family and school relations and uses his training and experience to complete assessments that are comprehensive and beneficial to clients. His clients include private individuals, government agencies, law firms, insurance companies, the Courts and private businesses.

Dr. Hann believes that assessment is most useful when the results of his assessments are used to plan helpful interventions. In his clinical practice, he strives to design treatment plans that are both meaningful and useful for clients. Dr. Hann believes that practical and well-founded assessment and therapy techniques are powerful and useful methods in assisting people to achieve their full potential.

In addition to providing high quality assessments, Dr. Hann also specializes in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy(ISTDP) with young adults and adults. ISTDP is a unique form of psychodynamic treatment that brings about rapid reduction and/or elimination of a broad spectrum of emotional symptoms. ISTDP interventions are specifically designed to resolve anxiety, depression, somatization and personality disorders, as well as alleviate a variety of self-defeating behaviors, many of which derive from unstable or troubled early life attachments.
